Up to 3,500MB/s and 3,100MB/s sequential RW speeds, 475,000 and 525,000 random access RW IO/s, temperatures from -40°C to +85°C
Swissbit AG launches its PCIe SSD series.
By combining performance, endurance, and storage capacity in a PCIe M.2 module, it expanded its range of storage solutions for the most demanding applications with its N-30m2 range. Customers in the industrial, NetCom and automotive sectors benefit from write performance that requires no active or passive cooling even at high temperatures.
As a result, the N-30m2 is for fanless and enclosed embedded systems. For maximum reliability in mission-critical applications, the series is optionally available with the firm’s ‘powersafe’ power loss protection technology. The PCIe-SSD is available in both M.2 2242 and M.2 2280 form factors with capacity ranging from 240GB to 3.84TB.
“The new N-30m2 range is the top choice for any applications demanding sustained high performance for write-intensive workloads. PCIe Gen3x4, NVMe 1.3, and onboard DRAM deliver the required performance, making it ideal for use as a boot medium as well as for data recording and logging. As our top-performing industrial SSD, it combines durability, greatest reliability, and lifetime data integrity, even in extreme environmental conditions,” says Roger Griesemer, GM, memory solutions.
This SSD series is based on industrial-grade 3D TLC NAND and can withstand temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C. The PCIe 4-lane interface follows the PCIe 3.1 spec and provides sequential RW bandwidths of up to 3,500MB/s and 3,100MB/s, respectively. For RW, random access achieves more than 475,000 and 525,000 IO/s, respectively.
Storage capacity for the N-30m2 with 3D TLC NAND will range from 240GB to 3.84TB. The company will also offer a pseudoSLC version of its N-36m2 range for greater endurance requirements, allowing for a 10x higher write load. This version will be available in capacities ranging from 80GB to 320GB.
As an option: PLP protection ‘powersafe’
For reliability, especially in mission-critical applications, the N-30/36m2 is optionally available with the enhanced ‘powersafe’PLP level. The special ‘powersafe’ feature secures data in the event of a sudden power failure even during the transfer from the host to the controller (dynamic data) or from the DRAM to the NAND (cached data). Intelligent energy management in the firmware and the use of reliable tantalum capacitors, which store energy during SSD operation, make this feasible.
