The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has inaugurated an ICT Hub and library at Akim Oda in the Eastern Region.
The project is part of the government’s mission to digitise all sectors of the economy by equipping the youth with ICT knowledge.
“The government of Ghana has prioritised education and deliberately made efforts in motivating the girl-child education. Hence, there is parity in the numbers enrolled currently in our second cycle institutions.” Dr. Bawumia during the inauguration
“Digitalisation is the future of the globe. Hence, there is a need to equip our youth to be prepared for the competition ahead. ” he added.
The Christina Akua Brago Diawuo Library and Technology hub is an honour done by the Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful to eulogise her mother.
Speaking at the Commissioning, Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful recounted her past, acknowledging the contributions of her mother in propelling her to her current state.
The facilty resourced by the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), Huawei Ghana, MTN Ghana and the Ghana Library Authority is equipped with an ICT hub, a robotics centre, a library, and a video conferencing centre.
