ADATA XPG ATOM 50 Gen4 NVMe SSD

It seems as PCI-Express 4.0 NVMe solid state drives have come into their own and are more mainstream we still haven’t seen a DRAM-less solution. Well that is changing today with the ADATA XPG ATOM 50, which combines the DRAM-less InnoGrit IG5220 4-channel Gen4 x4 controller with Micron 176-layer TLC NAND flash memory running at 1600 MT/s. Without the a DRAM chip you still get SLC caching using Host Memory Buffer (HMB) which uses your system’s DRAM rather than requiring a dedicated DRAM chip. With this configuration the drive offers sequential read and write speeds of 5000 MB/s and 4500 MB/s respectively.
