We may soon get to see the successor to Vivo’s X70 Pro+ smartphone in India now that the specifications of the X80 have been leaked. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is expected to launch the flagship smartphone in China first and may eventually arrive in India later this year.
According to a report by 91Mobiles, the Vivo X80 is expected to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. It is unclear if the device would launch with the same specifications in the Indian market or would come with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
he report also states that the Vivo X80 may feature a 6.78-inch E5 120Hz AMOLED display with DC-dimming. The display technology on the smartphone is similar to the one found on the previous generation X70 series. The X80 is expected to continue supporting HDR10+ which would make the device great for content consumption. Unlike last year’s X70 Pro, the display size is hinted to be larger. However, we believe that the X80 could have a 6.5-inch display.
The Vivo X80 might also launch with 12GB RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage on the highest variant in its lineup this year. The company may also launch two other variants – 8GB RAM/128GB ROM and 8GB RAM/256GB storage. Colour options may be the same Aurora Dawn and Cosmic Black.
In terms of camera specifications, the X80 might feature a 50-megapixel primary camera with Samsung’s GN5 sensor, a 13-megapixel secondary lens and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 lens. When it comes to the selfie camera, the device may have a 44-megapixel camera.
Vivo may continue to include the gimbal image stabilisation technology on the device, which has for a major part contributed to providing great low-light camera performance from the previous generation.
The Vivo X80 Pro is expected to feature many of the same specifications as the younger sibling but may sport a larger 6.78-inch display with a 2K resolution. Both of the devices are also said to feature a 4,000mm vapour cooling chamber that helps with heat dispersion keeping the device cool.
