vidia’s cloud gaming service, GeForce Now, is getting native support for Macs with Apple silicon (M1) chips in the current app update, the company said Thursday.

Nvidia brought up the GeForce Now app for macOS update (2.0.40) with native support for M1 Macs in a blog post.
The changes to the GeForce Now app for macOS amount to improved performance and lower power consumption on Macs powered by the M1 family of chips, the company said.
M1-powered Macs include the newest MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, 24-inch iMac, Mac Studio and Mac mini models.
Nvidia said the update will also make it easier for you to discover new games to play in the app. That’s because the update adds a new Genre row at the bottom of the Games menu.
“Useful sorting options include the ability to see All Games available in specific regions and by device type, and multiple filters can help narrow down the list,” the blog post added.
The update also adds server-side rendering frame rates to the Streaming Statistics Overlay.
In related good new for Mac users, the update comes as GeForce Now adds support for Amazon’s hit Lost Ark game. Amazon doesn’t publish the game with official macOS support. Other recent recent entrants to GeForce Now’s lineup include God of War and Dune: Spice Wars.
Mac users can access GeForce Now on the web or via the app. The cross-platform, subscription-based service allows users to stream hundreds of games across multiple devices. The service costs $9.99 per month.
