Jumia Kenya partners with eBee for electric bicycle deliveries

Africa e-commerce giant Jumia Kenya has partnered with eBee Africa to rollout electric bicycle deliveries across Nairobi. eBee is a Kenyan startup established in 2020 offering subscription-based electric bikes.

The partnership reduces customer delivery fees while offering riders higher incomes. This partly owes to the fact that e-bicycles don’t consume fuel and have low maintenance costs when compared to ordinary motorcycles. At the same time, CO2 emissions are also reduced.

The electricity bicycles deployed for Jumia deliveries have powerful electric motors and batteries capable of lasting an entire day of deliveries after a 4-hour charge.
